NYFW / Model Inspired; What's In My Bag?

Happy Sunday lovelies! I'll try and keep this intro short because I know I'll be a long post.

Let's kick this week off with an inspired What's In My Bag post!

As some of you may know, (if you follow my tumblr), I'm rather into models / the HF world. I've already got my countdown to the VSFS going.. but we'll save that for another day. You can expect a post on that afterwards!

Anyways, I thought today I'd share what I think I would keep in my bag if I was working / modelling at NYFW.

In no way am I trying to say I am / do / are going to model, nor do I know what models do, can, or need to bring with them. This is just what I think I would bring with me, even if I was going as a spectator.

I've shown three bags which tend to be style a lot of models carry..

1. iPhone / Cell Phone: Keep in touch with friends, agents, and manage your schedule. Also good for keeping busy backstage/between shows. I included an iPhone because most seem to use those.

2. Mobile iPhone charger: Using the assumption that communication is KEY for this hectic week, being connected would be crucial and I bet a lot of phones die. If there's no outlets to charge it, then mobile charger packs are awesome.

3. Headphones: Earbuds so you can listen more discreetly but still be approachable, and large headphones for quiet / personal times, likely between shows.

4. Wallet: Explanation not needed?

5. Polaroid Camera: Capture the amazing memories with polaroids, (which always take perfect pictures); or, a disposable camera for the same effect. Digital pictures just aren't the same; plus, you've got your cell phone camera for those!

6. Beanie: For in-between shows, if it gets chilly or you want to feel more cozy.

7. Water bottle: Staying hydrated is important; disposable water bottles are easy to obtain, but refillable ones are better to carry.

8. ID cards & passport in an easy-to-access pouch: Keep important cards separate but easy to reach incase your wallet is stolen, or you quickly need to prove it's you.

9. Notebook / Journal + pens: Sign autographs, take sketches of outfits, write notes or memos, etc.

9. iPad Mini: Again, good to take pictures / record notes / blog / etc off of, probably better for between shows / in downtime.

10. Snacks: Healthy energy bars, and Nerds for if you need a tiny blast of sugar.

11. Makeup bag: Basic touch-up essentials, nothing too serious as you'll have your makeup done for shows most of the time.

That's what I would keep in my bag if I was attending or modelling in NYFW. I'd probably have some other odds & ends in there as well; a pack of gum, receipts, tickets & passes / etc; what would you keep in YOUR bag if you were going to be there? Let me know in the comments!

Until next time,
xx

7 beauty products I want to try!

Hey guys! So today I thought I'd put up a post on the 7 beauty products I'd really like to try, and a brief explanation of why. I'll also have them linked if you'd like to check them out!

1. Naked Basics eyeshadow palette: Personally, I'm not a big eyeshadow wearer, but when I do (for events and such) I like to keep it really neutral. I think that this palette has the perfect range of colours for that, and not too many that I'll waste whatever I don't use. Plus, I love how the colours are matte and it's much more affordable the Naked 1 & 2 palettes.

2. Korres lip butter in Guava: I've heard many YouTubers review and love the Korres lip butters over the years. (Many seem to like the coral one). I think it looks super moisturizing, and the packaging is really cute. I'm also a huuuuggeee sucker for lip products because mine are ALWAYS chapped.

3. Marc Jacobs "Daisy Eau So Fresh" perfume: I know that Alli Simpson, one of my style icons uses this, and I love how light and fresh it is. A lot of times, I can't do really floral scents, (I probably could never wear the original Daisy as it'd give me a massive headache) so this is the perfect alternative because it's not too heavy or mature.

4. Lush's "Snow Fairy" body wash: Lush is evidently famous for their Snow Fairy scent for the holidays, but I've never gotten the chance to try it. It sounds like it would smell amazing, and I've only heard good things about it.

5. Chanel face powder: Chanel is something I probably won't ever invest in because I'm a cheap, broke student. But, not to say I wouldn't want to try it if I didn't have the opportunity. Chanel is such a classic, iconic brand and I think face powder is something that should be good quality. I'd love to own one from here.

6. One Direction's "Our Moment" perfume: I love the boys, the perfume smells AMAZING. Do I need to say more?

7. M.A.C. lipsticks in "Pure Zen" & "Creme Cup": M.A.C. lipsticks seem to be all the rage lately, and I've seriously wanted one for years. I can't pull off dark lips, so I'd love a lighter lipstick from here; I'm just not sure I want to dish out the $$$.

So those are the top 7 beauty products I'm dying for! Have you tried any of these? What are some beauty products YOU want to try? Let me know it the comments!

Love,

A/W Trends 2013

Welp, look who it is. (Hides face) I know, I know, when was the last time I posted? I'm sorry. Midterms are just around the corner, and I often can't think of anything to post about. I'll try and get better about sharing, I promise...

Today, I thought I'd do a post on trends I've noticed that look like they're settling in for this autumn and winter fashion season. I can't say I love all of them, but, they are hanging around in the fashion world at the moment so I guess I've got to be nice and include them.

1. Oversized / Boyfriend Coats: Oversized coats have seriously been taking over this season! They go great with pretty much any pair of jeans or trousers, and can be draped over the shoulders for an alternative look to wearing a coat like everyone else. They're also awesome for layering as you can fit lots underneath, and give a finishing touch to any outfit.

2. Dark / Berry Lips: Dark lips have been huge this season, especially within the tumblr style blogging community. Most bloggers seem to have opted for Mac's "Rebel", or there's another one I remember seeing from Nars which seems to be popular. These dark lips add a "Don't f*$% with me" vibe and match the dark nails that always go on in the colder months.

3. Pom or "bobble" beanies: I LOVE beanies. Especially ones with pom poms. Last year, I bought 3 of the exact same ones (if different colours) on clearance. Pom beanies are adorable, super warm and comfy, and add an almost flirty touch to outfits; and you can find them almost anywhere at really great prices, and they go with all kinds of outfits.

4. Leopard print: One of the trends you won't find me wearing. I'm not a big fan of leopard, and too much of it is definitely tacky, but if you like it go for it! When it's styled right, it can look killer.

5. Leather jeans: There's no doubt about it that leather jeans are probably the biggest trend this season. Celebs have been rocking them like crazy, same as loads of style bloggers, and more. Not feeling real leather? Lots of places sell leather-look leggings. These give a classy, polished look to any outfit and look amazeballs if you style them right.

6. Large structured bags: Large, structured bags have gotten right into the trends this season. Chances are, you've seen some style blogger or celebrity strutting around with (or lusting over) one. Lots of other stores have made their own designs too; awesome to carry lots in, and a great statement piece.

7. Oversized printed jumpers: You've probably also seen the Givenchy sweater with Bambi alllllll over the place. Gorgeous, but $1000 gorgeous? Yeah. Oversized printed jumpers have been all over the place this season, ranging from just oversized for a casual look to being worn as dresses.

8. Cutout shoes: Cutout shoes have been everywhere; you can find LOADS in Topshop. These babies can be dressed up or down, and if you're wondering how they can be worn in a/w, the wearer is lucky enough to be in sunny California, or killing it by adding some tights in. (Maybe thick socks?)

9. Tartan: Again, like leopard, you probably won't find me wearing anything tartan, but it's definitely been a staple in many bloggers' closets or wishlists. Zara has been a large part of these with their skirt & pants.

So that's it! Are you following (or hating) any of these trends? Lemme know how you're styling your closet for this season.

Talk to you soon!
